Hi Travellians,
I hope everyone is doing well on this rainy Friday afternoon! And Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday! Here’s a brief update on what’s happening at The Janet Travell Foundation. We have several new folders of documents from The Gelman Library. These two are especially interesting: Travell and Simons give a lecture on the Quadratus Lumborum Muscle, 1980; and “Ethyl Chloride Spray for Relief of Spasm and Pain.” The links take you to our website, JanetTravell.org.

Tired of lugging around “the red bibles”? The Trigger Point Manuals, Upper Half of Body and Lower Half of Body, are now available in digital format on our website.

Download our poster, “Janet Travell, M.D., White House Physician and Trigger Point Pioneer.” Based on JGT’s autobiography and Gelman Library documents, we’ve created a timeline of JGT’s personal milestones and career highlights. Everything from 1901 through 1968 is easily found in “Office Hours: Day and Night.” Then, from 1968 until 1997, JGT continued teaching, lecturing, publishing articles, co-authoring the trigger point manuals, and managing her clinical practice for nearly thirty more years. Consider this poster a work-in-progress though, and please let us know if you see any errors or ommissions!
Visit our Vimeo Channel to stream our video series, “Myofascial Pain Syndromes: The Travell Trigger Point Tapes. Janet Travell, M.D., shares her knowledge of myofascial trigger point therapy, from head to toe.

Lastly, Nancy Shaw has sent us a treasure trove of VHS and cassette tapes of JGT’s lectures and interviews, which will be published here once the tapes have been digitized.
Much love to you all,
Janet Street
